What I Want From A Supplier

I've worked closely with sales organizations for almost 30 years. I have been across the table from salespeople in a thousand settings. I've sent out, received and evaluated hundreds of major RFPs. I've sat through a plethora of final sales presentations from multi-billion dollar companies.

With all this I am surprised how often suppliers and their sales organizations "miss the mark" completely. Often, they don't know how to sell their products and services. More often, they don't know how to sell to me, the buyer. . . .

NYC Mayor Announces . . .

It was announced that effective January 1st, 2009 New York City's advanced life support and FDNY agencies will begin transporting all cardiac arrest patients only to those facilities equipped to administer cooling therapy. 

The video below highlights the Alsius CoolGard IVTM (Intravascular Temperature Management System) as well as commentary from Mayor Bloomberg that "first and foremost, our decisions are based on how you save lives."   Having this level of support, NYC will bring additional recognition and credibility to the growing industry understanding of how vital patient temperature therapy is to patient care.

ANAE Conference

ANAE (Association of National Account Executives) has announced they are hosting the 1st Annual Healthcare Equipment Planner & Architect Conference to be held in Dallas on February 5th and 6th, 2009. This conference will feature the top equipment planners and architects in the country giving educational sessions combined with booth time to network with suppliers. VHA and Broadlane will have booths along with equipment planners and architects who have identified over 2700 construction projects and over $25 billion in spend for 2009.
